The logo for the 2027 NCAA® Men's Final Four® was revealed today at Ford Field. Members of the NCAA® and the Detroit Local Organizing Committee (DLOC) gathered at the site of the future event to present the logo to local media and stakeholders.
"Today's first look at the logo for the 2027 NCAA Men's Final Four tips off the countdown to Detroit welcoming basketball fans from across the country and beyond," said Dave Beachnau, CEO of the Detroit Local Organizing Committee for the 2027 Men's Final Four®. "The Detroit Local Organizing Committee looks forward to working closely with the NCAA to deliver an exceptional Final Four experience—one that reflects Detroit's grit, creativity, and deep basketball roots."
The 2027 Men's Final Four® logo serves as a tribute to Detroit's heritage and toughness. Designed by Section 127, the logo draws inspiration from the city's street signs, auto tags, and industrial roots. The "313" area code reflects Detroit's deep sense of pride and place, while the basketball-record graphic nods to Hitsville and the city's Motown legacy. The brackets frame "Detroit," visually reinforcing the city as the center of the celebration.
"We are thrilled that the Final Four is returning to the great city of Detroit," said Dan Gavitt, Senior Vice President of Basketball for the NCAA.® "While it's only the second time the Final Four has come to the city, Detroit and other Michigan cities have a long history – more than 60 years, in fact – of hosting March Madness. The people of this state love basketball at all levels and those people owe an amount of gratitude to the Detroit Sports Commission, which put its best foot forward during a competitive site selection process to show off the transformation of downtown Detroit. It's a great time to be a sports fan in Michigan."
Detroit will host the 2027 Men's Final Four® semifinal games at Ford Field on Saturday, April 3 and the championship game on Monday, April 5. In addition to the exciting March Madness competition on the court, the 2027 NCAA Men's Final Four® will include a full schedule of fan events and community initiatives hosted by the Detroit Local Organizing Committee focused on the NCAA's commitment to education, the student-athlete experience, and an exciting fan experience.
"The launch of the 2027 Final Four logo and FinalFourDetroit.com represents an exciting step in welcoming one of the biggest sporting events in the world to our region," said Claude Molinari, President & CEO of Visit Detroit. "We're looking forward to more milestones in the months to come and shining a spotlight on Detroit while providing an exceptional experience for the participating student-athletes and college basketball fans across the globe."

The Men's Final Four® returns to Detroit and Ford Field in 2027 for the first time since the city was a pioneer in hosting the 2009 NCAA men's championship that was the first men's Final Four® played in an "in-the-round" configuration in a football stadium, setting attendance records and paving the road for future stadium-sized NCAA men's championships. It was the first time the Final Four® had a minimum seating capacity of 70,000 and the first time a sitting president filled out their bracket on live television.
In 2009, Michigan State University (MSU) was the runner-up and was the first team since Duke in 1994 to compete in the national championship game in their home state. MSU is the NCAA Host Institution for the 2027 NCAA® Men's Final Four®.
"Michigan State is honored to serve as the host institution for the 2027 Final Four," said J Batt Michigan State Vice President and Director of Athletics. "Every men's college basketball student-athlete begins the season dreaming of a trip to one of the greatest events in all of sports. We are excited to do all we can to make it the best possible experience for everyone involved as we welcome the college basketball world to Detroit."
The DLOC also announced today that the official website of the 2027 NCAA® Men's Final Four® is live at www.FinalFourDetroit.com.
