Dave Beachnau is in his 27th year with the Detroit Metro Convention & Visitors Bureau (DMCVB). He was named Senior Vice President of Sales, Services & Sports for the DMCVB in February 2017. In his role, Beachnau leads the Detroit Sports Commission with the primary responsibility of bidding on and hosting amateur sporting events in the region.

Beachnau had served as the executive director for the Detroit Sports Commission since 2001 where he was involved in the creation of the DSC and its rebranding initiative which included the development of the tagline "Where Champions are Made, and Championships are Played. Detroit." He was the founder and creator of the Detroit Sports Commission Prep Kickoff Classic, a DSC-owned event that has been held annually since 2005.
Beachnau earned a Bachelor of Business Administration from Adrian College in Adrian, Mich. He has received recognition from Lansing Catholic Central High School with the Triple A+ Alumni Award and was honored with Adrian College's Distinguished Alumni Award. Before his time at the DMCVB,
He spent eight years in the hospitality industry, including director of sales at the Atheneum Suite Hotel, where he led the pre-opening sales efforts for this downtown Detroit hotel property.
A Lansing native, Beachnau earned a bachelor’s degree from Adrian College in Adrian, Michigan, where he also lettered in basketball and baseball.
Beachnau and his wife, Edie, have two children, Kimberly and Tyler, and two grandchildren -- twins Abigail and Isabelle.
