Camden Johnson was a threat from the first time he touched the ball for Allen Park.

The senior wide receiver had two touchdown receptions in the first half and scored on a 34-yard run the first time he touched the ball to give the Jaguars a resounding 41-0 victory Friday afternoon in the Xenith Prep Kickoff Classic at Wayne State's Tom Adams Field.

Running back Josh Rempert added scoring runs of 37 and 17 as the Jaguars (1-0) dominated play from the kickoff.

"We played a great game,'' said Rempert. "Our team came together. Practice this week was on and off. The boys brought it today and we got the job done. Cam is a monster. You give him the ball and he's scoring. He's one of the best players I've ever seen.

"I think 41-0, first game of the season. I think the first game of the season is the one that matters most. It sets the tone for the whole year. Forty-one is a big number. All the teams are going to be reviewing AP.''

Taylor (0-1) had a disastrous first series and the Griffins' punt set up Allen Park in great field position at the Taylor 34.

It took the Jaguars one play to score as Johnson went around left end untouched with 9:02 to play in the first quarter for a 7-0 lead.

"I had some great blocking up front, and I was excited to get it into the end zone,'' said Johnson. "This is only the beginning for us. It's one step on the totem pole. Being part of the run and pass game I try to do as much as I can.''

Allen Park's Glen Webster sacked Anthony Celsi at his own 9, setting up the Jaguars with great field position at the Taylor 25 after a bad punt.

Rempert scored from 17-yards out and Webster ran in the two-point conversion to give the winners a 15-0 lead.

Taylor gambled on fourth down in its own territory, but Celsi was thrown for a loss, again give the Jaguars good field position at the Griffins 37.

One play later Rempert scored his second TD on a 37-yard burst, giving Allen Park a 22-0 lead with 11:48 left in the first half.

Johnson scored his second TD on a 21-yard pass from quarterback Braylon Orsette to give Allen Park a 29-0 lead and tacked on a third on a 16-yard pass from Orsette to make it 35-0 at halftime.

Orsette got in on the scoring with a 15-yard scamper in the third quarter to make it 41-0.

"We have some dawgs on defense,'' said Rempert. "They are aggressive, and they get after it. I think we're going to have the best defense in our conference.''
