Are you ready to celebrate the sport of wrestling?
The
Detroit Sports Commission is hosting "Wrestling Fan Jam" to celebrate the sport of wrestling and share the excitement of the 2022 NCAA Division I Wrestling Championships at Little Caesars Arena with the metro Detroit community and support youth wrestling in the region.
This new program is scheduled from 2–5 p.m. and is free and open to the public. Doors open at 1 p.m. The event is designed to showcase wrestling to the Detroit community and the overall local amateur and youth wrestling community, youth wrestling programs, schools and fans. "Wrestling Fan Jam" will provide attendees with a full schedule consisting of activities, exhibits and demonstrations, including:
- USA Wrestling practice featuring NCAA, Olympic and World champion, Jordan Burroughs and Tokyo bronze medalist, Sarah Hildebrandt, along with national team members
- A conversation with coaches including a special guest from the National Wrestling Coaches Association
- Analyst Caleb Nemmers and guests will provide insight to Saturday night's NCAA Division I Wrestling Championships match-ups
- An informative session on how to start a successful wrestling program
- Youth wrestling club demonstrations
