DETROIT – The Detroit Sports Commission today announced that all games of the
2021 Xenith Prep Kickoff Classic will be broadcast live in partnership with
Bally Sports Detroit and the
MHSAA Network.
XENITH PREP KICKOFF CLASSIC BROADCAST SCHEDULE
Thursday, Aug. 26
Bally Sports Detroit, as part of their "Football Friday" series, will broadcast the Canton vs. Deaborn Fordson game at 4 p.m. with Johnny Kane providing play-by-play and former Detroit Lion Rob Rubick as the color analyst. Kane will be joined by former University of Michigan quarterback Devin Gardner for the Chippewa Valley vs. Detroit Catholic Central match-up at 7 p.m. The two games will be available both on linear tv and the Bally Sports Detroit app. In addition to the Thursday game broadcasts, Bally Sports Detroit will be onsite with a fan activation including a football toss and giveaways. Bally Sports Detroit will also offer live game cut-ins, highlights and interviews from the XPKC during the Detroit Tigers game broadcasts on both Friday, Aug. 27 and Saturday, Aug. 28.
Friday, Aug. 27
MHSAA TV via their broadcast partner the
NFHS Network will carry the Birmingham Groves vs. Dexter game at 4 p.m. and the Chicago St. Patrick vs. Warren De La Salle game at 7 p.m. Joe Jason will handle play-by-play along with color analyst Adam Schihl. Fans can tune in www.mhsaa.tv.
Saturday, Aug. 28
The 1 p.m. Eastpointe vs. River Rouge and 4 p.m. Detroit Cass Tech vs. Southfield A&T games on the final day of the Xenith Prep Kickoff Classic will also be streamed live on MHSAA TV. Play-by-play announcer Jason will again be joined by Schihl.
Online tickets for the Xenith Prep Kickoff classic can be purchased at
detroitsports.org/pkctickets or through the mobile app,
GoFan. A portion of the proceeds benefits the schools. Tickets will also be available at the gate on game days for $12. Children 5 and under are free. One ticket grants admission to both games on that particular day.
