The Athletics Center O’Rena has a distinctive “blacktop” color first used in the 2015-2016 season. The facility initially opened in 1998 with a men’s basketball game, Oakland University against Michigan State University. The opening of the arena also coincided with Oakland’s move from the NCAA Division II to Division I.
